WebNov 28, 2024 · Alumahyde was intended to be no-bake. However, for best results the parts should be completely degreased and warmed to 100f. Apply it in thin layers. You have about 20-30 minutes to put layers on. Once a layer hits it dries pretty fast especially when warm. After the 20-30 is up it starts to cure and you have to stop painting. There are some spots on the gun where the sling hooks in and under the rotating magwell where there's alot of contact and rubbing and while you can see the wear, it hasn't worn through the finish.
