I don't have the PHB to hand, but I'd suggest going for 75% of the cost of re-writing the thing from scratch (assuming the Wizard already had another book/scrolls to copy from).

So yes, the cost to copy is 50gp per level. This allows the Wizard to collect spells as they travel. The gold cost is an important limiting factor from just obtaining every spell easily.

It's easy to take this and spread it to the spells that come from your level. It's just not stated anywhere. Though I believe it was originally if you go back far enough.
