Web16 feb 2014 · Since I love the 258 (4.2l) six/5speed in my wife's 1990 Jeep YJ, I was thinking about going that route, but lately came across a great deal on an Iron Duke 4 cyl out of a CJ7. I know these are not as strong of motors as the later AMC based 2.5l, yet still, there are those out there that seem to like them. It is in dire straights and am looking to swap the engine. What should I be looking for in the way of other engines.
