While it is fair to say that the evidence for generalizing the standard model is most compelling in this domain, our knowledge of both the cosmological scenario before nucleosynthesis and of the late matter abundances in the universe are too nebulous to convincingly demonstrate the necessity of physics beyond the standard model. WebbThe standard cosmological model is known as Λ Λ CDM. Two of the key features of this model are given in it’s name: It assumes that the Universe has a component of its energy density driven by the cosmological constant, Λ Λ, and that dark matter is cold dark matter (CDM). The cosmological constant term is believed to be due to dark energy.
